Softball Preview: Pace Patriots vs. Gulf Breeze Dolphins

Pace is 9-1 against Gulf Breeze since March of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Pace Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at 6:30 p.m. Pace is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.

In what's become a running theme this season, Pace gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Tate 11-0.

Jayden Heavener made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Heavener has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive pitching appearances. Heavener was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.

Pace's win bumped their record up to 19-1. As for Gulf Breeze, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Everything went Pace's way against Gulf Breeze when the teams last played on April 4th as Pace made off with a 13-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pace since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
