Volleyball Recap: Chula Vista's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Chula Vista posted their closest victory since March 22nd on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Valhalla Norsemen 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Valhalla still got an impressive performance from Luke D'Alessio, who had 37 digs. D'Alessio has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more digs the last three times he's played. Jaden Branam also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Chula Vista's win bumped their record up to 11-23. As for Valhalla, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chula Vista will host Southwest SD at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valhalla, they will take on Mount Miguel at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Norsemen are facing the Matadors at the right time seeing as the Matadors are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
