Baseball Recap: Yuma Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Yuma entered their tilt with Bennett on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ty Weathers tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits.

On the hitting side, Alex Pensado was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stevie Seward, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Yuma's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Bennett, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Coming up, Yuma will take on Byers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bennett, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Strasburg at 11:00 a.m.
