Baseball Game Preview: West Philadelphia Speedboys vs. Prep Charter Huskies

The West Philadelphia Speedboys will head out on the road to face off against the Prep Charter Huskies at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. West Philadelphia has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Philadelphia is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Abraham Lincoln just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Monday. They lost 13-3 to the Railsplitters. The matchup marked the Speedboys' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prep Charter). They put the hurt on Science Leadership Academy at Beeber with a sharp 20-2 victory on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

West Philadelphia's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Prep Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

West Philadelphia suffered a grim 17-2 defeat to Prep Charter in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Speedboys avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
