Basketball Recap: McDonald Gets the Win

If Memorial wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played McDonald, they should've done a better job of containing Naomi Sheesley. The Blue Devils strolled past the Red Devils with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 41-25 for which the team can thank Sheesley, who posted five points along with seven steals and five boards. McDonald is 3-1 when Sheesley posts five or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

Sophia Pecchia was another key player, putting up five points and 12 rebounds. Pecchia is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

McDonald now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Memorial, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDonald will take on Lowellville in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Memorial, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Waterloo at 12:00 p.m. on the 30th.
