Basketball Game Preview: Deep Run Wildcats vs. Freeman Mavericks

The Deep Run Wildcats will challenge the Freeman Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Freeman took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Deep Run, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row dating back to last season, Deep Run turned things around against Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 73-56 win over the Vikings.

Quentin Morgan was a one-man wrecking crew for Deep Run as he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Morgan has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 17 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brett Foy, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Freeman came up short against Glen Allen on Tuesday and fell 56-45. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Deep Run's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Freeman, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Deep Run came out on top in a nail-biter against Freeman in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 55-53. Does Deep Run have another victory up their sleeve, or will Freeman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
