It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Tri-City Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Santa Fe Christian 2-1. This was payback for Tri-City Christian, who suffered a 4-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Marissa Chronic spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits.

On the hitting side, Tri-City Christian secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Arantxa Espejo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Tri-City Christian's record now sits at 10-3-1. As for Santa Fe Christian, they moved to 6-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-City Christian will challenge La Jolla Country Day at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Torreys at the right time seeing as the Torreys are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Santa Fe Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop's at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season.
