Basketball Recap: Winthrop Comes Up Short

Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Salem Witches and fell 82-45. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Witches are ranked 51st).

Winthrop's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Salem, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Winthrop has already played their next game (against Gloucester), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Salem, they have already played their next matchup, a 98-89 defeat against Wakefield Memorial on the 5th.
