Basketball Recap: Bryce Baker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fellowship Academy over Covenant Classical

If Fellowship Academy was riding high fresh off their 59-27 takedown of Weatherford Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fellowship Academy Mustangs took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Covenant Classical Cavaliers on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryce Baker, who posted 23 points and seven boards. Baker is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hayden Slade, who almost dropped a double-double on nine assists and 11 steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Covenant Classical to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellis Mitchell, who earned 19 points. Howard Wade was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Fellowship Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Covenant Classical, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Fellowship Academy has already played their next matchup (against Christian Life Preparatory), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Covenant Classical has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Weatherford Christian.
