Softball Recap: Selma Takes a Loss

Selma made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hanford West, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bears fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bears have suffered against the Huskies since April 11, 2019.

Selma saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audreena Duron, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Selma has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10-1 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hanford West, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

Coming up, Selma will welcome Reedley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bears are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hanford West, they will challenge Kerman at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
