Basketball Recap: Grand Canyon Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

The Grand Canyon Phantoms blew past the Red Rock Scorpions 42-17 on Thursday thanks in part to Jensen, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Grand Canyon's points.

Another player making a difference was Xochitl Jiminez, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Grand Canyon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Red Rock, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Grand Canyon has already played their next match, a 63-17 loss against Joseph City on the 24th. As for Red Rock, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-11 defeat against Fountain Hills on the 29th.
