Football Recap: Curlew Skates Past Selport with Ease

Curlew won the last time they faced SelPort and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars claimed a resounding 44-14 victory over the Lumberjacks. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cougars just coasted through the last quarter.

Despite the loss, SelPort still got an impressive performance from Danny Searson (Northport), who picked up 62 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 31 yards. Searson (Northport) was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 62 yards.

The win (which was Curlew's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for SelPort, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Curlew will venture away from home to challenge Almira-Coulee-Hartline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for SelPort, they will take on Odessa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lumberjacks will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
