Softball Game Preview: Hargrave Falcons vs. Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns

The Hargrave Falcons will face off against the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamshire-Fannett took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hargrave, who comes in off a win.

Hargrave is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Tarkington on Tuesday as Hargrave made off with a 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kaci Gobert was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Gottselig, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Gobert wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hargrave kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tarkington only managed eight hits.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Hamshire-Fannett was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 9-1 to Liberty. The Longhorns have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Hamshire-Fannett's loss dropped their record down to 14-12-2. As for Hargrave, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
