Baseball Recap: Columbine Extends Winning Streak to Three

Columbine entered their tilt with Lakewood on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 14-4 victory. The Rebels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Aidan Jordan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Columbine is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-6 otherwise. Jordan was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Columbine got a massive performance out of Pryce Richie, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Richie is becoming a predictor of the Rebels' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of James Salazar, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Columbine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Columbine's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Lakewood, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Columbine will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
