Volleyball Recap: Reynolds Takes a Loss

If Reynolds was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Commodore Perry last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell just short of the Lakeview Sailors by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sailors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Reynolds wouldn't go down easily and took Lakeview into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 22-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Anna Miller paced Reynolds' offense, picking up 13 kills. Miller got some help from Julia Mixon and her 29 assists. Gracie Mclaughlin controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Reynolds has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Lakeview, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Reynolds will take on rival Jamestown at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lakeview is set to challenge their familiar foe Rocky Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
