Zach Luz leads Mt. Rainier to victory over Kamiak

The Mt. Rainier Rams's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against Kamiak by a score of 65-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

It was another big night for Zach Luz, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Emil, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.

Mt. Rainier now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Kamiak, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Rainier won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kentridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Kamiak, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lake Stevens at 7:15 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Lake Stevens is ranked 206th, while Kamiak is ranked 198th).
