Baseball Game Preview: Bucktail Bucks vs. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Rams

Bucktail hasn't had much luck against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bucks will challenge the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bucktail is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They lost 13-4 to West Branch.

Keller Friese put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Friese was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Friese wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Teagan Stone, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Another was Cael Dorman, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Columbia Montour Vo-Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Shenandoah Valley, falling 11-1. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly ten runs.

Columbia Montour Vo-Tech's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Bucktail, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Bucktail couldn't quite finish off Columbia Montour Vo-Tech when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 9-7. Can the Bucks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
