Recap: Wharton Tigers vs. Royal Falcons
The Wharton Tigers's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Royal and snuck past 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Wharton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacoryan Dickerson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Dickerson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Robert Lee, who scored 16 points.
Wharton's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14. As for Royal, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 6-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing El Campo the next time they take the court. Royal will host El Campo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Wharton will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
