Volleyball Recap: Provo Takes a Loss

If Provo was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Summit Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orem Tigers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 11th.

While Provo ultimately came up short, they really made Orem work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 30-28, 19-25, 25-16.

Nevaeh Magalei paced Provo's offense, picking up 23 kills. Magalei got some help from Violet Betham and her 35 assists. Magalei was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Provo's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Orem, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Provo will challenge rival Timpanogos at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Orem is set to take on their familiar foe Uintah at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
