Volleyball Recap: Lyman Comes Up Short

After flying high against Stanley County on Monday, Lyman came back down to earth. The Raiders fell just short of the Kadoka Kougars by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Lyman wouldn't go down easily and took Kadoka into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 17-15.

Lyman's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Kadoka, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Lyman and Jones County will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kadoka, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Thomas More at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
