Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Panthers vs. Creekview Mustangs

The Hillcrest Panthers will head out to take on the Creekview Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Hillcrest didn't have quite enough to beat South Oak Cliff and fell 3-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hillcrest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Jimenez, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Creekview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to The Colony.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 15-7-1. As for Creekview, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Creekview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hillcrest has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. It's a different story for Creekview, though, as they've only averaged .347. Will they be able to contain Hillcrest's hitters?

Hillcrest took their win against Creekview in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
