Softball Recap: Sam Rayburn Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Sam Rayburn came into Tuesday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the South Houston Trojans on Tuesday. That 20 run margin sets a new team best for the Texans this season.

Makayla Flowers was a standout: she scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Emily Fuentes, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Sam Rayburn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Houston only posted a batting average of .100.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-15. As for South Houston, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Coincidentally, Sam Rayburn and South Houston will both be playing Alvin the next time they take the field. South Houston will host Alvin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while Sam Rayburn will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
