After losing to Bennett the last time they met, Englewood decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pirates narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tigers 1-0. Give Englewood's defense some credit: that's the team's eighth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Emily Moreno, which was the first she's scored this season.

Englewood pushed their record up to 10-1-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four matchups. As for Bennett, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Englewood will venture away from home to face off against Middle Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Middle Park will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Englewood surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bennett, they will head out on the road to take on Arvada at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
