Bloomingdale has gone a perfect 5-0 against Spoto recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Bloomingdale will look to defend their home field against Spoto at 7:00 p.m. Bloomingdale will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Bloomingdale's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Chamberlain 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Bulls, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Javier Navas-Hoyer looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Grant, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since March 4th. Payton Jennings was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Bloomingdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chamberlain only posted a batting average of .176.
Meanwhile, Spoto posted their closest win since April 29, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Freedom 8-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Spoto also got a great performance from William Barrios as he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Barrios has become a key player for Spoto: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Devin Dukes was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Spoto is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 7-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Levert Sims Jr, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Bloomingdale pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Spoto, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Bloomingdale took their victory against Spoto in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0. Will Bloomingdale repeat their success, or does Spoto has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
