Football Recap: Cochranton Cardinals vs. Cambridge Springs Devils

Cochranton extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-3. They were dealt a 41-12 loss at the hands of the Cambridge Springs Devils. The Cardinals lost against the Devils in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 54-0 score last time.

Although Cochranton took the loss, they still got scores from Walker Carroll and Brayden Williams.

As for Cambridge Springs, they now have a winning record of 4-3. Considering they have won three matchups by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cambridge Springs had a senior duo take command as Brett Kania rushed for 137 yards and three scores on only 12 carries and Brandon Hoover rushed for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Kania has become a key player for the Devils: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cochranton is set to challenge their familiar foe Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cambridge Springs will square off against rival Maplewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
