Football Game Preview: Senatobia Warriors vs. Byhalia Indians

Senatobia has gone a perfect 8-0 against Byhalia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Indians at 6:00 p.m. Senatobia is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Senatobia had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 22-point drubbing they dealt Olive Branch on Friday. The Warriors never let the Conquistadors get on the board and left with a 22-0 win. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Conquistadors are ranked 104th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Senatobia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deavion Watson out in front who rushed for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Watson is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Senatobia also got help from Silas King, who showed off his sure hands for 129 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Senatobia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 207 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 177 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Senatobia's defense and their three sacks. Elijah Johsnon was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Meanwhile, Byhalia won against Potts Camp last Friday with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Indians secured a 28-22 W over Holly Springs.

Byhalia now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Senatobia, their record is now 5-0.

Everything came up roses for Senatobia against Byhalia in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
