The Lafayette Christian Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Westgate Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Lafayette Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 179 points over their last three contests.
Two weeks ago, Lafayette Christian Academy humbled Teurlings Catholic with a 62-3 victory. The result was nothing new for Lafayette Christian Academy, who have now won six matches by 23 points or more so far this season.
Lafayette Christian Academy relied on the efforts of Jujuan Johnson, who threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes, and Jalen Noel, who gained 173 total yards and three touchdowns. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Sam Taylor got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Westgate beat North Vermilion 19-13 on Thursday. Given Westgate's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while North Vermilion is ranked 164th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lafayette Christian Academy has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven contests, giving them a 6-1 record. As for Westgate, their win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 5-2.
Lafayette Christian Academy took their win against Westgate in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 38-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lafayette Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
