Softball Recap: Omaha South Wins Going Away Against Lincoln High

Omaha South hadn't done well against Lincoln High recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Packers blew past the Links 10-2. The Packers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Makenzie Wolf was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August of 2024. Maiya Meeker was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

Omaha South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .391 or higher in three consecutive games.

Omaha South is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln High, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Coincidentally, Omaha South and Lincoln High will both be playing Omaha North the next time they take the field. The Packers will head out to face the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Links will host them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
