Volleyball Recap: Marina Vikings vs. Beaumont Cougars
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marina had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Beaumont Cougars. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Marina never let Beaumont on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 25-21.
Leading Marina to victory were Cienna Enriquez and Rylee Hartwell. Enriquez had nine digs and three aces, while Hartwell had 14 digs. Enriquez is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in the last five games she's played.
Marina's victory bumped their record up to 18-13. As for Beaumont, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
Marina will square off against Cypress at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cypress will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Marina surely won't give up without a fight. Beaumont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
