Baseball Recap: Pinson Valley Snags Ninth Win in Last 12 Games

Pinson Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Carbon Hill on Tuesday. Pinson Valley blew past Carbon Hill 11-1.

Marcelo Gabarron looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Pinson Valley's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 7-16 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Jamison Green was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Justice Lockwood was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Pinson Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carbon Hill only posted an OBP of .400.

Pinson Valley has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-17 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. Carbon Hill is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
