Baseball Recap: Columbia Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Columbia Central entered their tilt with Loretto on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 5-2. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered an 8-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Hampton Griffith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Brian Whitehead also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Columbia Central's record is now 10-8. As for Loretto, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia Central will square off against Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Loretto, they will challenge Community at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
