Basketball Recap: Atchison County Takes a Loss

Atchison County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 48-39 to the Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-45 back in January.

Despite the loss, Atchison County still got an impressive performance from Kinzee Bauerle, who posted 23 points along with seven boards and six steals. That was a full 59% of Atchison County's points, marking the 15th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ava Speer was another key player, putting up nine points.

Atchison County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Atchison County has already played their next matchup (against Jackson Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy, they will host Horton on Friday. Horton will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
