Preview: West Orange-Stark Mustangs vs. Vidor Pirates
West Orange-Stark has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Vidor Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Orange-Stark will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1039th, while Vidor is ranked 347th).
Last Friday, West Orange-Stark suffered a rough 46-21 defeat at the hands of Little Cypress-Mauriceville. West Orange-Stark has not had much luck with Little Cypress-Mauriceville recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Vidor has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Jasper 74-23 at home. Winning may never get old, but Vidor sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Raegan Stephenson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. Those 30 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Allie Williams, who scored 18 points.
West Orange-Stark's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Vidor, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
West Orange-Stark strolled past Vidor in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 34-17. Does West Orange-Stark have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vidor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
