Baseball Recap: Miami Country Day Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Miami Country Day, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Riviera Prep Bulldogs 13-3 on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-8 back in February.

Adam Jackson and Parker Zaron did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Zaron went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Zaron a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marcus Ferrer, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Miami Country Day always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riviera Prep only posted an OBP of .333.

Miami Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Riviera Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Miami Country Day didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-1 loss against Marathon on the 9th. As for Riviera Prep, they will take on Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) in a tournament on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stallions have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
