Basketball Game Preview: Westhill Vikings vs. St. Joseph Cadets

Westhill is 2-8 against St. Joseph since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Cadets at 7:00 p.m. Westhill is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Wednesday, Westhill was able to grind out a solid win over Norwalk, taking the game 49-36.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph lost to Ludlowe at home by a 63-45 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Cadets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Falcons are ranked 17th).

Westhill will have to keep a close watch on Jayden Febus and Dwayne Sample, a pair of players who had a big impact on St. Joseph's prior game. Febus posted 17 points, while Sample scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lameik Black, who had eight points.

Westhill's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Westhill got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in January of 2025 against St. Joseph by a conclusive 70-46 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
