Basketball Game Preview: Cair Paravel Lions vs. Council Grove Braves

The Cair Paravel Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Council Grove Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Cair Paravel blew Cornerstone Family out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Cornerstone Family got their revenge. Cair Paravel fell just short of Cornerstone Family by a score of 56-53.

Meanwhile, Council Grove got the win against McLouth on Friday by a conclusive 67-41. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cair Paravel better keep an eye on Brycen Palmquist. He was instrumental in Council Grove's win, going 12 of 20 on his way to 29 points. Another player making a difference was Drew Buchman, who went 5 for 8 en route to 10 points and four steals.

Cair Paravel now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Council Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
