Softball Recap: Strafford Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Strafford lost to Forsyth back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Indians came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 13-8.

Sarah Canales made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Strafford let Kaelyn Rhodes and Dalyce Scrivener run wild. Rhodes scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Scrivener went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Scrivener is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Karsen Comstock was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Strafford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in four consecutive games.

Strafford has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Forsyth, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strafford will venture away from home to face off against Clever at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Forsyth, they will head out to challenge Early at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
