Glastonbury proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Maloney Spartans 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Guardians in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.

Glastonbury wouldn't go down easily and took Maloney into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-20, 25-16, 20-25, 15-11.

Reese Henderson paced Glastonbury's offense, picking up 20 kills. Henderson got some help from Mckenna Reynolds and her 28 assists. Reynolds also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Leah Mosca, racking up five apiece.

Glastonbury's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Maloney, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

Coming up, Glastonbury will challenge Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maloney, they will face off against Simsbury at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
