The Ware Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Monument Mountain Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Ware is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

Ware easily dispatched Palmer on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Indians fell just short of Taconic by a score of 6-4 on Sunday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered since April 27, 2024.

Ware saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Gaudreau, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Monument Mountain gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Mount Greylock Regional. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Mounties: they've now won seven in a row.

Monument Mountain pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Ware, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

Ware came up short against Monument Mountain in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 8-5. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
