Preview: Burlington Township Falcons vs. Westampton Tech Panthers
Burlington Township is 2-7 against Westampton Tech since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Burlington Township Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Westampton Tech Panthers at 5:15 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Burlington Township can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past Bordentown 57-54.
Burlington Township's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Irving Singletary, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds, and Baron Davis, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isiah N'diaye, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Westampton Tech had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 67-41 margin over Burlington City.
Westampton Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Karl Hunter out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Alexander Jeanty was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists.
The win got Burlington Township back to even at 1-1. As for Westampton Tech, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Burlington Township came up short against Westampton Tech when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-61. Thankfully for Burlington Township, Tahijj Hunter (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
