Basketball Game Preview: Olmsted Falls Bulldogs vs. Avon Lake Shoremen

The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Avon Lake Shoremen at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Olmsted Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Avon Lake likes a good challenge.

While Olmsted Falls didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They managed a 69-64 victory over Steele on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Avon Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 101-65 loss at the hands of Elyria. While losing is never fun, the Shoremen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while the Pioneers are ranked 129th).

Avon Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Olmsted Falls, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Olmsted Falls couldn't quite finish off Avon Lake when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 66-63. Can Olmsted Falls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
