Recap: Lewis County Panthers vs. Wayne County Wildcats
The Lewis County Panthers pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 72-62 to Wayne County. While losing is never fun, Lewis County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Wayne County is ranked 100th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wayne County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cayman Camfield, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Shamer, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds.
Lewis County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Wayne County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Lewis County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Collinwood at 7:30 p.m. Collinwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Wayne County, they will head out on the road to face off against East Hickman County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Hickman County will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
