Volleyball Recap: Syracuse Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Davis

Syracuse faced Davis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Titans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Darts. The Titans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Darts, too.

The win didn't come easy: Davis scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 28-26, 25-23.

Chase Barrett paced Syracuse's offense, picking up 17 kills. Barrett got some help from Talon Morris and his 33 assists. Finally, Kayl Beutler kept Syracuse's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Despite the loss, Davis still got an impressive performance from Siona Faeamani, who had 14 assists and six digs.

Syracuse is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Davis, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Syracuse didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Layton on the 10th. As for Davis, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Fremont on the 10th.
