Basketball Recap: Murrieta Valley Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Chaparral came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Murrieta Valley, but Justin Lara wouldn't allow it. The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks strolled past the Chaparral Pumas with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 78-64 thanks in part to Lara, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Jaizahn Lewis, who posted 16 points and three steals. The contest was his 12th in a row with at least ten points.

Murrieta Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Chaparral, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.
