After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sandy Creek, Centennial was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They managed a 50-44 victory over the Fairbury Jeffs. The Broncos' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Jeffs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Friesen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Those 17 points gave Friesen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Izzy Ohlde, who posted 17 points and four blocks.
The win got Centennial back to even at 2-2. As for Fairbury, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial and Milford will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Milford will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Centennial surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fairbury, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bruning-Davenport/Shickley at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th.
