It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East Valley can now relate to. They lost 16-8 to the Woodland Beavers on Friday. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Elise Heater put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Heater was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Heater wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Presley Weatherley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Weatherley is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Leila Cook was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
East Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6-1. As for Woodland, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
As of now, neither East Valley nor the Beavers have any future games scheduled.
