Softball Preview: Mountain Range and Fairview Square Off

The Mountain Range Mustangs will face off against The Fairview Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mountain Range unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Academy on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Mountain Range saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Laurent, who went 3-for-4 while logging 3 runs, 1 double, and 1 triple. Laurent also had three hits, her most since the 18th.

Even though they lost, Mountain Range hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That's the fewest strikeouts they have managed all season.

Meanwhile, Fairview narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Monarch 3-1.
