Volleyball Recap: Bellmont's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Bellmont was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Braves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yorktown Tigers on Saturday. The loss put an end to the Braves' undefeated start to the season.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14, 26-28, 25-17.

When it comes to explaining why Bellmont lost, don't look at Averie Coats. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs. Coats has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bellmont fell to 3-1. As for Yorktown, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Coincidentally, Bellmont and Yorktown will both be playing Avon the next time they take the court. The Braves will head out to face the Orioles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
