Baseball Recap: Providence Catholic Falls Short Against Ranked Brother Rice

Providence Catholic faced Brother Rice in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Celtics took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. The Celtics were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Providence Catholic has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season. As for Brother Rice, they pushed their record up to 25-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

While Providence Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
