Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Cramerton Christian Academy

Cramerton Christian Academy won the last time they faced Tabernacle Christian and things went their way on Friday too. Cramerton Christian Academy put the hurt on Tabernacle Christian with a sharp 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Coleman Dewey was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Curell, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chaz Dixon, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

The win keeps Cramerton Christian Academy at an undefeated 5-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.6 runs this season. As for Tabernacle Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Cramerton Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Alamance Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tabernacle Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on April 10.
